The recycling of plastics is essential to turn the wheel of the #CircularEconomy. We all play a key role in separating them properly and in the responsibility of not leaving them in natural spaces.
Read on and check that we are on the right track!
Spain is recycling more and more, with the total amount increasing considerably with each year that passes. In the past 10 years we have recycled 122.9% more, increasing from half a million to over 1.1 million tonnes. And the upward trend continues: we recycled 5.6% more in the yellow plastic bin in 2019 compared to the previous year, exceeding one million tonnes for the second year in a row.

Spanish citizens recycle an average of 13.2 kg of plastic packaging originating from households per year, making us number one in Europe. And we’re doing better every year – in 2019, each person recycled one kilo more packaging than the previous year.
Without doubt, our society is moving away from the ‘throwaway’ model and towards the ‘circular economy’ concept, extending the life cycle of products and preventing raw materials from being wasted. That’s why we are committed to eco-design for all our products!

When waste ends up in landfill, raw materials are wasted and consumption increases.
The Circular Economy aims to avoid this waste by giving products a new life through recycling, and by preventing the accumulation of waste in landfill. Since 2007, we have halved the amount of plastic waste that ends up in landfill, meaning we have given new life to more than one million tonnes of plastic.

The ‘Blue Angel’ seal is an international certification that ensures that the product in your hands is made from at least 80% post-consumer recycled material. In other words, it is made by recycling the plastic packaging deposited in the yellow bin.
