Committed to sustainable forest management: Life Forest CO2
We’re joining the Life Forest CO2 project to offset our carbon dioxide emissions through forestry credits
Contributing to the improvement of our environment is an ongoing mission at Eversia. That’s why we’ve joined the LIFE FOREST CO2 project, led by the Regional Council for the Environment in the Autonomous Community of Murcia, whose objective is to calculate, reduce and offset CO2 emissions generated by industry in order to mitigate the effects of climate change.
Offsetting is achieved through purchasing forestry credits. The amount will depend on the carbon footprint to be offset, and the credits will be allocated to certain Sustainable Forest Management reforestation projects in different forested areas in the Region of Murcia.
In order to continue with our environmental commitment, we have compensated 2 tonnes of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere through the absorption generated at FINCA LOS VILLARES, located in the municipality of Cehegín. The Forest Management project takes place in a forest mass of Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis). The activity carried out as part of the project, covering a total area of 74 hectares, has been planned with the aim of improving the forest mass in line with climate change mitigation criteria.
